IBM Db2 Database and Platform Expert

Akkodis is seeking an IBM Db2 Database and Platform Expert for a Contract with a client in Westminster, CO (Remote). The ideal candidate will drive the assessment, optimization, and migration of enterprise IBM Db2 environments to enhance performance, reliability, and operational efficiency for business-critical TruckMate workloads.

Rate Range: $90/Hour to $100/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

IBM Db2 Database and Platform Expert Responsibilities include:

• Assess and optimize IBM Db2 database environments to improve performance, scalability, and reliability for high-volume TruckMate operations.

• Analyze and tune SQL queries, execution plans, indexing strategies, and system configurations to resolve performance bottlenecks.

• Lead and support the migration of production Db2 databases from Windows to Linux, ensuring minimal downtime and business continuity.

• Troubleshoot and resolve database, infrastructure, backup, recovery, and availability issues in mission-critical environments.

• Develop automation, monitoring standards, and health-check processes to enhance operational support and system stability.

• Collaborate with IBM support, technical teams, and stakeholders to deliver migration plans, risk assessments, and knowledge-transfer documentation.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

• 8+ years of hands-on experience administering, tuning, and supporting IBM Db2 databases in enterprise production environments.

• Proven experience migrating live production IBM Db2 databases from Windows to Linux, including planning, execution, validation, and post-migration support.

• Strong expertise in Windows Server and Linux administration, with the ability to optimize database infrastructure for performance and reliability.

Pay Details: $90.00 to $100.00 per hour
