Manufacturing Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a Contract with a client in Allen Park, MI. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on launch and manufacturing experience to manage pre‑production builds, drive issue resolution, oversee fleet and budget execution, and deliver clear program status and risk communication.

Rate Range: $30/hour to $32/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Manufacturing Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Manage end-to-end execution of new vehicle and powertrain launch programs, ensuring adherence to timing, quality, and budget targets.

• Oversee pre‑production build events, coordinating cross‑functional teams to meet launch readiness, quality, and efficiency objectives.

• Lead vehicle fleet management activities, including ordering, build coordination, testing, evaluation, and final disposition of pre‑production vehicles.

• Drive issue identification and resolution across functions, ensuring timely closure of build, part, and design issues that could impact launch.

• Govern design change and engineering change approval processes to ensure updates are validated prior to prototype and production builds.

• Prepare and deliver program status reports and senior leadership presentations, clearly communicating risks, progress, and mitigation plans.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.

• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience, including launch, manufacturing, or program management roles.

• Demonstrated experience supporting new vehicle or powertrain launches, including pre‑production build management and issue resolution in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong program management and communication skills with the ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams, manage launch risks, and present clear status updates to senior leadership.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $32.00 per hour
