Mechanical Design Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a Contract with a client in Raymond, OH. The ideal candidate will design and develop automotive chassis components while collaborating with engineering teams and suppliers to resolve technical challenges and deliver robust solutions.

Rate Range: $42/Hour to $48/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities include:

• Design and develop automotive chassis components, including suspension, steering, subframes, engine mounts, wheels, brakes, and fuel/exhaust systems.

• Create robust 3D models and engineering designs using CATIA V6 while maintaining design intent and manufacturability.

• Develop and interpret 2D engineering drawings with proper application of GD&T principles.

• Collaborate with design engineers, test engineers, and suppliers to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues.

• Evaluate technical proposals, provide engineering recommendations, and support technical decision-making.

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prepare technical documentation, and communicate research and test results to stakeholders.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

• 5+ years of automotive engineering and component design experience.

• Strong proficiency in CATIA V6, including 3D modeling and engineering drawing creation.

• Working knowledge of GD&T, design-for-manufacturability principles, and robust modeling practices.

Pay Details: $42.00 to $48.00 per hour
