Mechanical Design Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a Contract with a client in Rocky Mount, NC. The ideal candidate will support process improvements through technical publication updates, repair procedures, supplier oversight, and initiatives focused on TAT reduction and FPY improvement.

Rate Range: $38/hour to $40/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Mechanical Design Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Participate in initiatives focused on reducing Turnaround Time (TAT) and improving First Pass Yield (FPY) by identifying issues and supporting corrective solutions.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including repair processes, procedures, and overhaul repair instructions.

• Support the creation, revision, and implementation of technical publications, change requests, and temporary or permanent revisions.

• Prepare technical inspection instructions and ensure compliance with quality and engineering standards.

• Establish technical equivalencies for materials, tools, and equipment used in repair and overhaul operations.

• Provide technical guidance and oversight to suppliers and repair facilities to ensure successful execution of overhaul and repair activities.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

• 2+ years of experience in technical engineering, repair development, technical publications, or overhaul/maintenance operations.

• Experience developing and maintaining technical repair, inspection, and overhaul documentation.

• Knowledge of technical publications, repair processes, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on TAT reduction and FPY improvement.

Pay Details: $38.00 to $40.00 per hour
