Network Security Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Network Security Engineer for a Contract with a client in Northborugh, MA or Marlboorugh, MA. This role is responsible for maintaining network security, performing vulnerability assessments, and ensuring high availability through effective infrastructure administration and troubleshooting.

Rate Range: $55/Hour to $60/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Network Security Engineer Responsibilities include:

• Manage and maintain enterprise firewalls, including rule creation, policy reviews, security hardening, and change management.

• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot routing and switching infrastructure across multi-site network environments.

• Perform network vulnerability assessments, port scans, and remediation activities to strengthen security posture.

• Oversee centralized logging, monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes to ensure operational visibility.

• Maintain network device backups, disaster recovery readiness, and security patching for firewalls, routers, switches, and related systems.

• Provide infrastructure support for remote sites and data centers, including participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation and network issue resolution.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

• 3+ years of experience in Network Security, Network Engineering, or a similar infrastructure support role.

• Hands-on experience managing enterprise Firewalls, Routers, and Switches in a multi-site environment.

• Strong knowledge of network security, routing and switching, vulnerability assessments, and troubleshooting methodologies.

Pay Details: $55.00 to $60.00 per hour
