Power Plant Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Power Plant Engineer for a Contract with a client in Palm Beach Gardens/Jupiter West, FL. The ideal candidate will support power plant migration initiatives by conducting site assessments, documenting current-state systems, and developing strategies that minimize operational disruption.

Rate Range: $40/Hour to $41/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Power Plant Engineer Responsibilities include:

• Conduct on-site assessments of power generation facilities, substations, and supporting infrastructure to gather migration requirements.

• Document current-state architectures, including operational systems, network infrastructure, control systems, and application dependencies.

• Perform gap analyses and identify risks, compliance considerations, and operational impacts related to migration activities.

• Develop migration strategies, implementation plans, and detailed technical requirements to support modernization initiatives.

• Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, SCADA, EMS, IT/OT, and plant operations teams to ensure successful project execution.

• Support migration planning, stakeholder workshops, and readiness assessments while minimizing downtime and business disruption.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

• 5+ years of experience in the utility, energy, power generation, or renewable energy industry.

• Experience with power generation technologies, including gas, nuclear, solar, wind, or combined-cycle plants.

• Strong knowledge of NERC-CIP regulations, cybersecurity requirements, and industry compliance standards.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $41.00 per hour
