Product Design Engineer IV

Akkodis is seeking a Product Design Engineer IV for a Contract with a client in Cupertino, CA. This role partners with overseas ODM vendors to guide fixture designs, solve manufacturing challenges, and ensure scalable, production-ready solutions for global retail environment.

Rate Range: $80/Hour to $85/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Product Design Engineer IV Job Responsibilities include:

• Lead the design and development of retail fixtures, furniture, and merchandising solutions for store environments using an ODM development model.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and overseas manufacturing partners to refine designs, meet program objectives, and drive product development from concept through production.

• Review vendor-generated CAD designs, provide technical guidance, and ensure solutions align with manufacturing requirements, safety standards, and aesthetic goals.

• Create and evaluate prototypes, mockups, and design iterations using CAD tools, 3D printing, and hands-on engineering problem-solving techniques.

• Conduct design validation through manufacturing reviews, reliability testing, tolerance analysis, and root cause investigations to support successful mass production.

• Partner with vendors to develop manufacturing processes, resolve technical challenges, and deliver high-quality, scalable product solutions within project timelines.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.

• 7+ years of experience in product design engineering and new product development.

• Strong CAD expertise with the ability to independently create, review, and iterate designs for physical products.

• Experience partnering with ODM/manufacturing vendors to drive design solutions, validate manufacturability, and support products through production.

Pay Details: $80.00 to $85.00 per hour
