Your Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Laboratory Chemist to join their laboratory team in Lancaster, South Carolina. This is an excellent opportunity for a chemist with strong analytical chemistry skills and hands-on chromatography experience to support quality testing in a regulated manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in chemistry, extensive experience with HPLC analysis, and a passion for producing accurate, reliable laboratory results. This position operates in a fast-paced quality control environment supporting manufacturing operations.
Salary: $70-75k; may be negotiable based on education/experience/geo location and other factors
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
Conduct laboratory analysis using a variety of instrumentation, with HPLC accounting for approximately 85% of testing activities.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical equipment, including:
HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography)
GC (Gas Chromatography)
LC (Liquid Chromatography)
ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma)
Wet Chemistry techniques
Review and interpret test results, ensuring compliance with established specifications and quality standards.
Document laboratory activities and maintain accurate records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
Support investigations of out-of-specification (OOS) or out-of-trend results.
Follow GMP, laboratory safety, and quality procedures.
Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Technical teams to support production operations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry.
Strong chemistry fundamentals and analytical laboratory techniques.
Hands-on experience with HPLC instrumentation and analysis.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent attention to detail and documentation practices.
Ability to work onsite full-time in Lancaster, SC.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of Quality Control laboratory experience.
Experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
Background in one or more of the following industries:
Pharmaceutical
Medical Device
Nutraceutical
Food & Beverage
Experience working with analytical instrumentation including GC, LC, ICP, and wet chemistry methods.
Highly Preferred
Experience with Empower Chromatography Software.
Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
