Akkodis, Inc. is seeking a Reliability Engineer for a fully remote role with a global industry leader in aerospace. The Reliability, Maintainability, and Safety (RMS) Engineer provides analytical reliability modeling capabilities to the systems engineering team by leading component and system level trade studies and working with the systems engineers to develop a system architecture to meet customer reliability, maintainability, and safety requirements. Qualifications include 8+ years of experience in reliability engineering within an aerospace environment, including work with electrical components.
Salary Range: $55-60 per hour; salary negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors

Reliability, Maintainability, and Safety Engineer Job Responsibilities Include :
RMS requirements compliance assessment, generating reliability predictions from HALT testing, endurance testing, and bottoms up reliability analytical methods, interpreting and analyzing test data from the lab for HALT and endurance and field data. During the program, the Aerospace Reliability, Maintainability, & Safety Engineer will work with a multi-disciplinary project team of subject matter experts in fields such as such as thermal/aerospace analysis, installation, mechanical design and analysis, reliability, controls, electronics and software, and testing.
Lead and support Reliability, Maintainability, and Safety (RMS) engineering activities across the product lifecycle, including system architecture support, requirements development, allocation, traceability, decomposition, verification, and validation.
Partner with Systems Engineering, Program Management, customers, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure RMS objectives, technical execution, and program requirements are achieved.
Perform and coordinate RMS analyses and processes, including Design for Reliability, reliability and maintainability allocations/predictions, FMECA/FMEA, FHA, fault tree analysis, testability analysis, FRACAS, maintainability and built-in test demonstrations, and related modeling/documentation activities.
Develop and assess key reliability metrics such as MTBF, MTBUR, and dispatch reliability for new, modified, and off-the-shelf components and systems using analytical methods, test data, and fleet data from prior programs.
Plan, support, and execute reliability testing and failure investigations, including HALT, HASS, reliability growth testing, endurance testing, root cause and corrective action analysis, and lessons learned.
Support transition from development to production through documentation review and approval, troubleshooting of non-performing products, and recommendations for improvements in tools, methods, technologies, and engineering processes.
Apply relevant industry standards, handbooks, and tools to support RMS analyses, maintenance concepts, and health management initiatives, including RCM, CBM+, and IHMS, and support proposals by developing technical content and basis of estimates.
RMS Engineer Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college, with 8+ years of work experience in Reliability, Maintainability, and Safety Engineering.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build effective working relationships internally and externally.
Deep expertise in Reliability, Maintainability, and Safety (RMS) analysis, prediction, and verification/validation, including experience generating MTBF, MTBUR/MBTUF, and dispatch reliability predictions using bottom-up methods and fleet data.
Working knowledge of aerospace engineering disciplines and development processes, including requirements management, traceability, decomposition, derivation, verification and validation, mechanical design, materials, structural analysis, electrical systems, controls, embedded controls, development testing, and qualification testing.
Experience with Vapor Cycle Systems (VCS), Liquid Cooling Systems (LCS), and/or Air Cycle Systems (ACS), including modeling and understanding the physics of components such as heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, turbines, fans, valves, motors, motor controllers, and water collection/separation devices is a plus but not required.
Familiarity with environmental and qualification standards such as MIL-STD-810 and DO-160, along with experience using HALT and endurance testing to support RMS modeling is a plus.
