Senior Data Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI (Hybrid). The ideal candidate is responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise data pipelines while ensuring data governance, security, performance, and cost efficiency across the data platform.

Rate Range: $55/Hour to $65/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Senior Data Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.

• Build and optimize data solutions using BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and other GCP-native technologies to ensure high performance and reliability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data services, support business requirements, and enhance the Enterprise Data Platform.

• Implement and enforce data governance, security, encryption, and data quality standards across cloud-based data assets.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data processing workloads, ensuring efficient utilization of cloud resources and cost-effective operations.

• Develop and support CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and automation frameworks to streamline deployment and platform management.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 7+ years of Data Engineering experience, including building and supporting enterprise-scale data platforms.

• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and DataProc for designing and deploying scalable data solutions.

• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Java, with experience developing cloud-based data pipelines and data processing frameworks.

Pay Details: $55.00 to $65.00 per hour
