Senior Data Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a Contract with a client in Mt Laurel, NJ. The ideal candidate with expertise designing and optimizing scalable data pipelines, analytics platforms, and AI-driven solutions that enable data-driven decision-making and intelligent automation.

Rate Range: $45/hour to $53/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Senior Data Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data pipelines using PySpark, Python, Databricks, and SQL to support enterprise data processing and analytics initiatives.

• Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows for ingesting, transforming, and processing structured and semi-structured data from multiple sources.

• Develop scalable data models, data marts, and analytical datasets while implementing data quality controls, monitoring, and governance standards.

• Design and implement Agentic AI solutions, leveraging LLM frameworks to build intelligent agents capable of reasoning, planning, and task execution.

• Optimize Spark and Databricks workloads for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency across cloud-based data platforms.

• Collaborate with business, analytics, QA, and engineering teams to deliver data-driven solutions, automate processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.

• 8-10 years of experience in Data Engineering, Big Data development, analytics platforms, and AI-driven solution development.

• Strong hands-on expertise in PySpark, Python, Databricks, SQL, Oracle, SQL Server, and large-scale ETL/ELT pipeline development for enterprise data platforms.

• Experience designing and implementing Agentic AI and LLM-based solutions, including autonomous AI agents, data engineering frameworks, data quality controls, and scalable cloud-based analytics environments.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $53.00 per hour
