Akkodis is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a Contract with a client in Burlington, MA. The ideal candidate will lead the design, analysis, and verification of LVAD mechanical components across the product lifecycle while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure performance and reliability.
Rate Range: $60/Hour to $70/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Senior Mechanical Engineer Job Responsibilities include:
Lead the design, analysis, and validation of LVAD mechanical components and subsystems in compliance with regulatory standards.
Develop and execute test methods (e.g., Instron) to evaluate product performance, reliability, and durability.
Create and maintain detailed CAD models, drawings, and GD&T documentation to support design and manufacturing.
Apply FEA, CFD, and other engineering analyses to optimize designs for functionality and manufacturability.
Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, systems, software, and manufacturing teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and support technical documentation to ensure successful product development and commercialization.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related STEM field.
6+ years of experience in mechanical design and development, preferably in medical devices.
Strong experience in test method development and execution using Instron or similar mechanical testing systems.
Proficiency in CAD design (SolidWorks or equivalent) with expertise in GD&T and product development for medical devices.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $70.00 per hour
