Senior Mechanical Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a Contract with a client in Burlington, MA. The ideal candidate will lead the design, analysis, and verification of LVAD mechanical components across the product lifecycle while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure performance and reliability.

Rate Range: $60/Hour to $70/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Senior Mechanical Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Lead the design, analysis, and validation of LVAD mechanical components and subsystems in compliance with regulatory standards.

• Develop and execute test methods (e.g., Instron) to evaluate product performance, reliability, and durability.

• Create and maintain detailed CAD models, drawings, and GD&T documentation to support design and manufacturing.

• Apply FEA, CFD, and other engineering analyses to optimize designs for functionality and manufacturability.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, systems, software, and manufacturing teams throughout the product lifecycle.

• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and support technical documentation to ensure successful product development and commercialization.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related STEM field.

• 6+ years of experience in mechanical design and development, preferably in medical devices.

• Strong experience in test method development and execution using Instron or similar mechanical testing systems.

• Proficiency in CAD design (SolidWorks or equivalent) with expertise in GD&T and product development for medical devices.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $70.00 per hour
