Digital Workplace Sr Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Digital Workplace Sr Engineer for a 6-month Contract with strong potential for Contract-to-Hire job with a client in Bloomington, MN. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of hands-on experience engineering enterprise Microsoft environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM, Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra ID, Intune, and Autopilot, along with 5+ years of automation and scripting experience. This role will provide technical leadership in the design, automation, improvement, and maintenance of the enterprise Windows endpoint environment. The engineer will also lead complex endpoint initiatives spanning deployment, imaging, patching, software management, security, and automation.

Pay Rate Range: $65/hour to $80/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Digital Workplace Sr Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Provide technical leadership in the design, automation, improvement, and maintenance of the enterprise Windows desktop and endpoint environment.

• Lead the planning and execution of complex endpoint projects, including imaging, deployment, testing, patching, application management, and resolution of interoperability issues.

• Design, implement, configure, and improve enterprise SCCM and Intune infrastructure, including endpoint images, automated deployments, software updates, and related processes.

• Partner with technical and business stakeholders to gather requirements, improve desktop support workflows, develop standard operating procedures and technical documentation, and implement scalable solutions.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 8+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, Group Policy, RDS, and SCCM, plus 5+ years of automation and scripting experience using technologies such as PowerShell, Ansible, or Python.

• SME-level experience across the Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft 365/O365, Azure tenant administration and security, Entra ID, Windows, Intune/MDM, Autopilot, SCCM, Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams.

• Strong hands-on endpoint engineering experience with identity and access management, Microsoft policy administration, endpoint security, imaging, patching, software deployment, and automation.

• Excellent communication, analytical, troubleshooting, prioritization, and collaboration skills, with the ability to operate across business strategy, technical design, and hands-on implementation.

Preferred qualifications include semiconductor or manufacturing experience, endpoint security and certificate management, GCC High or government Microsoft environments, and experience supporting Mac and Linux environments including Ubuntu and/or RHEL.
