Simulink Engineer – Power Converter Controls

Akkodis is recruiting for a Simulilnk Engineer - Power Converter Controls for an aeropsace manufacturer in the Niskayuna, NY area. This is an onsite contract position with a pay rate of $80 an hour to $100 an hour depending on education and experience. The Simulink Engineer - Power Converter Controls will develop, maintain, and test embedded control firmware for power electronic converters (e.g., inverters, rectifiers, DC/DC converters). The role focuses on implementing control algorithms, digital signal processing, and hardware interface code on embedded controllers to meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements.

This person MUST be strong in Mathworks/Simulink. 

• Power Electronics Engr who can write C/C++

• Power converter design, testing experience

• Working with Control systems and power generation

• Be able to write control code

• C, C++, Matlab, DSpace

• Work on ARM or Microcontrollers and complete test in the lab

• Work with Inverters and power converters

• Complete AC/DC, DC/AC

• Work with High Voltage

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineer, computer Engineer, or related field.

• 5+ years of embedded firmware development epxerience, including at least 3 years with power converters or motor drives

• Strong proficiency in C/C++, Mathworks Simulink; experience with embedded IDEs, debuggers, version control (e.g., Git).

• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers or DSPs commonly used in power electronics (e.g., TI C2000, STM32, NXP, Microchip, etc.).

Pay Details: $80.00 to $100.00 per hour
