Your Role

Akkodis is seeking a Sr Advanced Mechanical Engineer for a Contract with a client in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate must have proven expertise in validating engineering drawings and models, ensuring design compliance, manufacturability, cost efficiency, and adherence to industry standards.

Rate Range: $65/hour to $68/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Sr Advanced Mechanical Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

  • Validate aerospace engineering drawings and models to ensure compliance with ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards and company requirements.

  • Review designs for proper application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, ensuring design intent is accurately defined and communicated.

  • Assess engineering designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, quality, and production readiness.

  • Support product development and production phases by providing technical guidance and resolving design-related issues.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to drive technical validation activities and maintain engineering standards.

  • Mentor and coach junior engineers while contributing to technical reviews, best practices, and continuous process improvements.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

  • 10+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably within the aerospace industry.

  • Deep expertise in engineering drawings, ASME Y14.5 standards, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), including drawing validation and review.

  • Experience assessing designs for manufacturability and cost, with the ability to mentor engineers and collaborate effectively across cross-functional engineering teams.

Pay Details: $65.00 to $68.00 per hour
