System Admin Linux

Akkodis is seeking a System Admin Linux for a Contract with a client in Basking Ridge, NJ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering and supporting Linux server environments, virtualization platforms, and enterprise storage infrastructure to ensure system availability, performance, and security.

Rate Range: $46/hour to $47/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

System Admin Linux Job Responsibilities include:

• Administer, maintain, and support Linux server environments, including system installation, configuration, patching, and performance monitoring.

• Build, deploy, manage, and decommission physical servers, virtual machines, and virtualization infrastructure using VMware technologies.

• Monitor and resolve system alerts, security vulnerabilities, hardware failures, and operating system issues to ensure high availability.

• Perform storage administration tasks, including NetApp storage management, storage migrations, and capacity planning activities.

• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues involving servers, operating systems, virtualization, and storage platforms, and conduct root cause analysis.

• Participate in 24x7 on-call support, outage resolution, infrastructure upgrades, and operational maintenance to ensure business continuity.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, System Administration, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• 6–8 years of experience in Linux System Administration, server operations, virtualization, and infrastructure support.

• Strong expertise in Linux administration, VMware virtualization, NetApp storage platforms, server provisioning, patch management, and system troubleshooting.

• Experience with enterprise infrastructure operations, storage migrations, root cause analysis, security remediation, and 24x7 production support environments.

Pay Details: $46.00 to $47.00 per hour
