Systems Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Systems Engineer for a Contract with a client in Mount Vernon, WA. The ideal candidate will develop and execute functional safety validation strategies for vehicle systems by leading safety analyses, test planning, and cross-functional coordination.

Rate Range: $55/hour to $75/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Systems Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Lead functional safety test planning and validation activities to ensure compliance with safety requirements and industry standards.

• Conduct and facilitate safety analyses, including FMEA, Hazard Analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis, to identify and mitigate system risks.

• Develop test cases for safety-critical vehicle functions based on functional and technical requirements.

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to coordinate safety validation efforts and drive issue resolution.

• Prepare and present technical reports, safety assessments, and project updates to stakeholders and leadership teams.

• Support the development and improvement of functional safety processes, methodologies, and best practices in accordance with ISO 26262.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field; master’s degree preferred.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the heavy-duty truck or automotive industry, including 3+ years of functional safety engineering experience.

• Strong knowledge of ISO 26262, Functional Safety principles, and safety analysis techniques such as FMEA, Hazard Analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis.

• Experience with vehicle integration, testing, CAN/J1939 communication protocols, and the development of safety-critical systems in automotive or commercial vehicle environments.

Pay Details: $55.00 to $75.00 per hour
