Technical PLM Architect

Akkodis is seeking a Technical PLM Architect for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI(Hybrid). You will lead the design and implementation of PLM architecture on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, ensuring seamless BOM transformation and integration across engineering and manufacturing systems.

Rate Range: $70/hour to $78/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

 

Technical PLM Architect job responsibilities include:

• Lead end-to-end PLM architecture on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform (cloud or on‑prem), defining standards for data models, integrations, and governance across the product lifecycle.

• Own BOM transformation strategy, synchronizing EBOM, MBOM, and SBOM while enabling complex product configuration and high‑variant (150% BOM) management.

• Design and implement ENOVIA data schemas and interfaces, and integrate 3DX with downstream systems (e.g., ERP such as SAP/Oracle, legacy CAD like CATIA V5/V6), including migration of legacy BOMs.

• Standardize and enforce change management processes (ECR/ECN) to ensure global traceability, effectivity control, and auditability.

• Conduct technical deep‑dives on 3DX modules (Product Configurator, Change Manager), driving customization and automation using MQL, Java, web services (REST/SOAP).

• Partner with engineering and manufacturing leaders to translate business requirements into scalable solutions, providing technical governance and mentoring developers/system integrators.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

• Minimum 10 years in IT, with at least 4+ years focused on PLM architecture and 3DEXPERIENCE platform (R2018x or higher).

• Proven expertise in ENOVIA Unified Architecture, BOM management (EBOM, MBOM, SBOM), and complex product configuration for automotive applications.

• Strong technical skills in 3DX customization and integration using MQL, Java, and web services (REST/SOAP), along with experience integrating ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and CAD environments (CATIA V5/V6).

Pay Details: $70.00 to $78.00 per hour
