    Akkodis is seeking a Technical Writer (API) for a Contract with a client in Cleveland, OH. Candidates must have proven expertise in RESTful API documentation and Git‑based workflows as a key qualification.

    Rate Range: $49/hour to $56/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

     

    Technical Writer (API) job responsibilities include:

    • Create high‑quality API documentation including reference guides, conceptual overviews, workflows, and tutorials.

    • Define and organize API structures such as endpoints, parameters, authentication methods, sample requests/responses, and error codes.

    • Maintain and update documentation to reflect new releases, feature enhancements, and API version changes.

    • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and engineering teams to understand API functionality and ensure technical accuracy.

    • Use tools like Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman, and Git‑based platforms (GitHub/GitLab) to generate, manage, and publish documentation.

    • Gather and incorporate feedback from internal teams and external developers to improve documentation clarity, usability, and developer experience.

     

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

    • 6–10 years of experience in technical writing, with strong emphasis on API documentation.

    • Proven ability to create clear and accurate RESTful API documentation using tools like Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman, and Git‑based platforms.

    • Strong technical understanding of JSON, API structures, and collaboration with engineering teams to ensure documentation precision.

    Pay Details: $49.00 to $56.00 per hour
