WAF Engineer - Information Security

Modis is seeking an WAF Engineer - Information Security for a Contract with a client in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will protect and optimize web application security by configuring, tuning, and managing Imperva WAF policies while investigating threats and resolving complex security incidents.

Rate Range: $50/hour to $53/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

WAF Engineer - Information Security Responsibilities include:

• Design, implement, and manage Imperva WAF security policies to protect internet-facing web applications and APIs.

• Configure and optimize WAF rules, exceptions, and security controls to mitigate threats while minimizing false positives.

• Analyze web traffic, security events, and logs to identify malicious activity and support incident investigation and response.

• Troubleshoot complex WAF-related issues, including blocked requests, SSL/TLS errors, and application connectivity problems.

• Automate WAF configurations and operational processes using Terraform, APIs, and scripting technologies.

• Collaborate with security, network, cloud, and application teams to ensure secure and compliant web application deployments.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in web application security, with a strong focus on WAF administration and security policy management.

• Extensive experience with Imperva WAF, including policy configuration, rule tuning, exception management, and threat mitigation for production environments.

• Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10, SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), DDoS protection, SSL/TLS, HTTP/HTTPS, and DNS technologies.

Pay Details: $50.00 to $53.00 per hour
