Akkodis Recognized as the Winner of 2022 Microsoft Inclusion Changemaker Partner of the Year

Akkodis was selected for the ‘Yarning App’, a mobile application developed in collaboration with the Western Australian Police Force to improve fairness and equality to Aboriginal communities throughout Western Australia.

Akkodis today announced it has won the Social Impact Inclusion Changemaker 2022 Microsoft Partner of the Year Award. The company was honored among a global field of top Microsoft partners for demonstrating excellence in innovation and implementation of customer solutions based on Microsoft technology.

 

Akkodis were selected for their ‘Yarning App’, a mobile application developed in collaboration with the Western Australian Police Force to improve fairness and equality to Aboriginal communities throughout Western Australia. Built on the Microsoft Power Platform, Yarning provides spoken Aboriginal language interpretation allowing police officers to improve understanding and communication with Aboriginal communities.

Yarning allows officers to select an Aboriginal language relevant to the area they are policing and play aloud key messages to improve understanding by Aboriginal people who do not speak English as a first language. The App is made available to over 7,000 police officers across the state.

The Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards recognize Microsoft partners that have developed and delivered outstanding Microsoft-based applications, services, and devices during the past year. Awards were classified in various categories, with honorees chosen from a set of more than 3,900 submitted nominations from more than 100 countries worldwide. Akkodis was recognized for providing outstanding solutions and services in Social Impact category for Inclusion Changemaker.

The Social Impact Inclusion Changemaker Partner of The Year Award recognizes a Microsoft partner organization that excels at providing innovative and unique services or solutions based on Microsoft technologies that help customers solve challenges of diverse representation, economic access, digital inclusion, and/or accessibility. Inclusion changemakers drive digital transformation to help enable more inclusive economic growth. Technology can unlock innovations toward a more inclusive and equitable world, leading to greater innovations for everyone.

Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards are announced annually prior to the company’s global partner conference, Microsoft Inspire, which will take place on July 19-20 this year.

This is the third partner of the year award for Akkodis Australia after winning the Microsoft Global Data Analytics Partner of the Year Award, and the Microsoft Country Partner of the Year Award in 2019. Akkodis was also named a finalist in the 2019 Microsoft Global Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Partner of the Year Award.
