Project description and ambitions
Multi-purpose tracking system suitable for industries and companies that need to protect process intellectual property, together with a system that supports them in their certification paths.
PRISMA is a platform that uses blockchain hybridization to provide a more streamlined and responsive structure for recording changes in state and processing on physical objects, products and services, with public notarization to ensure the immutability and certifiability of processes.
The PRISMA project moves in the dual direction of extending the possibilities of use and advantages of blockchain technology also on IoT devices, simultaneously improving the energy performance of the chain, in compliance with the energy and computing needs of devices with limited processing capabilities and low energy demands.
PRISMA's goal is to improve the competitiveness of companies by innovating and optimizing their production processes, products and business models based on data transparency, accountability and collaborative partnerships.
Key elements
Private blockchain for secure progress tracking
- Using a private blockchain to facilitate real-time tracking of semi-finished product status progress. By implementing a private blockchain, the system maintains strict data access controls, limiting visibility of information to authorized participants only.

Public Blockchain for Transparent Summary
- Strengthening transparency and accountability
The system integrates a public blockchain that at regular intervals obtains summary progress data from the private blockchain, hashes it and securely records it on the public blockchain.
- The immutable ledger, accessible to all stakeholders, provides a high-level overview of progress without revealing specific confidential details.
The technology
The project's innovation lies in its holistic approach, which merges the strengths of public and private blockchains to improve data security, transparency, and operational efficiency. This innovative concept addresses the limitations of existing tracking methods, and opens up new avenues for data-driven decision-making and collaborative business models.
At the heart of this innovation is the strategic combination of private and public blockchains, each with distinct but complementary purposes. The use of a private blockchain with smart contracts automates and validates state advances within a secure and controlled environment. This ensures data integrity and confidentiality, reducing vulnerabilities associated with centralized systems. On the other hand, the integration of a public blockchain facilitates transparent data summaries, improving accountability and trust among stakeholders. This synergy harmonizes data confidentiality and transparency, a unique feature of this innovation.

AILANTO gathers over 15 years of experience and expertise in the world of cryptocurrencies and the derived blockchain technology. Based on this know-how, Ailanto builds the set of skills (technological, strategic, legal, etc.) to design solutions that are not only technically advanced, but reliable and practicable all-round . AILANTO has created financial management and industrial products. In particular, it has managed the technological development of the issuance of a token representing a traditional financial asset ( digital bond).
In the industrial area, it has developed several products, which are now available as a basis for new customized projects for companies and markets.

CNS is a consortium of cooperatives specialized in the provision of services. We are an expression of the cooperative world with which we share the founding values: from respect for the person to the dignity of work, from legality to transparency to economic, social and environmental sustainability.
On behalf of the members, we participate in public and private tenders, we acquire contracts and orders for the provision of services, we stipulate contracts with clients. We coordinate the member companies to ensure the correct execution of contractual services. We provide members with support for improving the quality of services and company organization.
Research organization
UNIBO The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DISI) promotes research activities in the fields of science, engineering and computer technology. The fundamental research areas are: Artificial Intelligence , Autonomic and Complex Systems, Middleware and Computer Networks, Information Management Systems. The Department intends to pursue excellence in scientific and technological research in the computer science field, consolidate and expand technology transfer activities towards local authorities and local businesses.
Implementing entity
BI-REX (Big Data Innovation and Research Excellence ) is one of the 8 national Competence Centers established by the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy (formerly MISE) as part of the government's Industry 4.0 plan. The public-private consortium, founded in 2018 and based in Bologna, brings together 62 players in partnership including Universities, Research Centers and Companies of excellence and has a specialized focus on the Big Data theme. BI-REX is the only industrial-led Competence Center.
