The Trust Gap Behind AI Adoption

ETHRWorld spoke with Akkodis President and CEO Jo Debecker about the findings from Akkodis' "What CTOs Think 2026" report — based on insights from 500 CTOs and 2,000 C-suite leaders worldwide. Only 36% of CTOs say they trust their workforce is ready for AI, a gap that Debecker argues makes CHRO-CTO alignment more critical than ever. Closing it isn't a technology fix — it means rethinking roles, redesigning skills and building new career pathways so people and intelligent systems can work side by side.

The challenge in 2026 was not to do more AI. It was to scale what worked, and trust was one of the key factors that determined whether organisations could move AI from pilots into production.
